Privacy policy for Quickspan Calendar

Last updated: 2026-10-25

Quickspan Calendar (“the app”) is a calendar app for Android phones, tablets and foldables. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: everything stays on your device. The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

What the app uses

Events you create in the app. Events, calendars and their colours that you create inside the app are stored in a database on your device, in the app’s private storage. They are not sent anywhere.

Your phone’s calendars (optional). If you allow it, the app asks Android for permission to read your calendars (READ_CALENDAR) so that it can show the events you already have, and to change them (WRITE_CALENDAR) so that you can add, edit, move or delete events from the app. The app asks for both permissions in one step, when you switch on “show my phone’s calendars”. With them it shows those events next to the app’s own and lets you create, edit, move, resize and delete events in calendars that accept changes (calendars that are read-only stay read-only). The app reads and writes these events only on your device, through Android’s own calendar storage. It does not copy them to any other place and does not send them to us or to anyone else. You can refuse the permission or withdraw it at any time in Android’s settings (Settings > Apps > Quickspan > Permissions); the app then keeps working with the events stored in the app itself, and it does not ask again unless you switch the feature on.

Text you type in quick add. When you type something like “Lunch with Sam tomorrow at 1pm” the app works out the date, time, place and title on your device, with rules and a small language model that is part of the app. The text is not sent anywhere and is not stored except as the event you choose to save.

Settings. Choices such as which calendars are visible are kept on your device.

What the app does not do

Your accounts and other apps

Calendars that belong to an account on your phone (for example a Google account, or another calendar service you set up through a sync app) are kept up to date by that account’s own sync service, not by this app. When you add, change or delete an event in such a calendar through this app, Android stores the change on your phone and the account’s sync service may then upload it to your provider, exactly as if you had made the change in your phone’s calendar app. That sync is governed by the provider’s own privacy policy (for Google accounts, Google’s). This app does not control it and does not receive your account’s password or sign-in details.

Device backups

Android can include an app’s data in the device backup it makes to your own Google account if you have backup switched on. That backup is made and controlled by Android and your Google account, not by this app. The app allows this backup for its events database only, so that your events come back if you move to a new phone or restore one. The app’s settings are not included. If you do not want this, switch off backup in Android’s settings (Settings > System > Backup) or for this app.

Keeping and deleting your information

The app keeps its data on your device until you delete it. You can delete events or calendars in the app. Uninstalling the app removes the app’s own database and settings. Events that are stored in your phone’s calendars belong to those calendars; delete them there or in the app. Because we hold no copy of your information, there is nothing for us to delete on a server.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone, including children.

This website (quickspan.app)

The app and this website are separate. The website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service. In aggregate, it tells us how many people visit each page, from which country, and with what kind of device and browser. According to Cloudflare, it uses no cookies and no local storage, and it does not build profiles of visitors or fingerprint them. The site has no advertising, no other analytics and no social-media trackers, and we cannot identify you from these statistics. Cloudflare, Inc. processes them under its privacy policy; our legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site is useful (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). This policy page does not load the analytics. If you would rather not be counted, block static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser or content blocker; the site works the same without it.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes what it does with information (for example, adds a feature that uses the internet), this policy will be updated first and the date above changed. A material change will be described in the app’s release notes.
